LocationLakeland, FL25% in office, 75% remoteSummaryOur Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for all activities required to process the biweekly payroll for over 800 employees across multiple states. This position also assists with benefits administration, leave management, and other HR-related tasks. This position is highly confidential and sensitive in nature.Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Manage all payroll activities and ensure the timely and accurate payment of employee wages* Audit and analyze payroll data for accuracy and compliance with pay rules, follow-up to resolve discrepancies, and escalate concerns to appropriate levels of leadership.* Manage all local tax registrations including state/county/city for income and unemployment taxes* Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices* Audit new employee on-boarding processes for accuracy* Maintain accurate records and produce ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll and human resources* File annual EE0-1 report, process unemployment claims, and complete employment verifications in a timely manner* Review and audit W-2's and 1095C files for accuracy* Provide payroll information for audits including the annual workers comp and 401K audits* Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with the human resources team to improve payroll and HRIS processes* Process and respond to employee garnishment requests in accordance with legal requirements and deadlines* Reconcile monthly employee paid benefit billings to payroll records; calculate and submit payment for benefits; identify and resolve billing and/or payroll discrepancies that arise* Assist with employee benefits administration and recordkeeping as assigned (401k, COBRA, leaves, etc.)* Provide training to new hires and managers on timesheet entries and resolving timesheet exceptions* Investigate and resolve discrepancies,--returned direct deposit and deductions* Assist with HR-related events and activities* Performs other duties as assignedEducation and Experience* High School Diploma required* At least 5-7 years of proven experience in payroll* 2+ years of experience with benefits administration preferred* Previous experience with ADP WorkforceNow preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities* Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data with discretion.* Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.* Exceptional attention to detail, especially under time constraints.* Ability to analyze information and problem solve.* Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.* Proficient in ADP Software and Microsoft Office.* Excellent interpersonal and ability to communicate effectively.Work Environment / Physical DemandsThis position is in a typical office environment which requires prolonged sitting in front of a computer.--Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment including operation of standard computer and phone equipment.--May have occasional high stress when dealing with customers/clients.
