Exciting opportunity for a Medical Director of Mechanical
Circulatory Support / Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join
our growing team! Lee Health Heart Institute is currently seeking
an experienced Medical Director of Mechanical Circulatory Support
to join the Advanced Heart Failure Center the Lee Health Heart
Institute in Fort Myers, Florida. The Medical Director of
Mechanical Circulatory Support Program will play a pivotal
leadership role contributing to the development and expansion of
device therapy and coordination of inpatient and ambulatory care of
recipients of left-ventricular assist devices Lee Health Heart
Institute has an established, full -service cardiothoracic surgical
service performing 1,300 open heart surgeries, 3,700cath procedures
and serving annually 4,000 patients admitted for acute heart
failure. The Heart Park Medical Center is the hub hospital for
Cardiogenic Shock Program which offers surgical Impella and ECMO
treatments and encompasses four large volume hospital system
totaling 1,890 licensed beds. The AHF program collaborates with the
regional heart transplant centers for cardiac replacement

recognized in the state of Florida! Administrative
Responsibilities: Oversee the mechanical circulatory support (MCS)
program, including patient selection, pre-operative evaluation, and
post-operative care. Lead multidisciplinary team meetings to
discuss patient management and program development. Stay abreast of
the latest advancements in MCS technology and treatment
methodologies. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and
contribute to the continuous improvement of the MCS program.
Qualified Candidates Should Be: BC/BE by the ABIM in Advanced Heart
Failure/Transplant Completion of an ACGME accredited heart failure
fellowship Proficient in management of LVAD, heart transplant and
short-term mechanical support devices including Impella and ECMO
More than 5 years post-fellowship experience is preferred but
graduating fellows are welcome to apply Eager to work in a growing,
high-volume practice and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Effective communication skills in order to collaborate in a large
multidisciplinary team approach to car Must have an outstanding
clinical background and reputation and the leadership, vision,
knowledge and strategic organizational skills to grow the advanced
heart failure program with a strong focus on quality care Optional:
Able to perform right heart catherization's, heart biopsies,

with excellent outcomes in advanced heart failure We do not perform
heart transplantations; the group collaborates closely with four
regional heart transplant referral centers Advanced surgical
treatment options include implantable heart devices, including
