Position Information
----About the Nurse Residency Program
Lakeland Regional Health (LRH) promises to treasure, nurture and
inspire all our newly hired and transferring new Registered Nurses
through a comprehensive, learner-centered one-year Nurse Residency
Program. The program supports the successful transition of the new
nurse into a professional role in an acute care setting in one of
the following patient care areas:
-----Acute Care Services (Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Palliative,
Orthopedics, Nephrology) --- Intermediate Care Services (Medical,
Cardiac, Trauma, Neuro/Stroke)-----Critical Care Services(SICU,
TICU, MICU)----- Emergency Services (Main ED, Pedi ED) ---
Behavioral Health Services (Mental Health ) --- Women's and
Children's Services (Pediatrics, Pediatric ED, Mother/Baby, Labor
and Delivery, NICU) --- Perioperative Services (OR, PACU)*---
Cardiac Cath Lab*
The program has two tracks: a traditional and a tiered specialty
with pathways designed especially for the novice nurse and nursing
specialty.--
Traditional Pathway: designed to build foundations in nursing
specialties, primarily acute care and intermediate care. Residents
can later choose to apply to a nursing specialty fellowship
program.
Tiered Specialty Track: designed to build foundations in an initial
nursing specialty and then enter a Nursing Specialty Fellowship
Program at month six. The nursing resident is prepared to
successfully transition into a new specialty at 1 year.
*Please note that that Perioperative Services and Cardiac Cath Lab
positions require a 30 minute call expectation.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Associate Degree in Nursing completed in advance of start
date.
Nonessential:
* Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Education equivalent experience:
Essential:
* Nursing: If hired after 2013, must obtain Bachelor degree in
Nursing within 3 years of employment date.
Other information:
This program is for all newly graduated and/or Registered Nurses
with 12 months or less experience in an acute care setting as a
Registered Nurse.
The Nurse Residency Program hiring events will be held on Saturday,
March 25th and Saturday, April 22nd. Candidates need only attend
one event. If selected for the program, candidates will receive
offers 1 business week following the hiring event they attend.
Cohort start dates will be Monday, May 1st, Monday, June 26th, or
Monday, July 17th.
You must submit your application by Friday, March 17th if you wish
to attend the March 25th hiring event. You must submit your
application by Friday, April 14th if you wish to attend the April
22nd hiring event.
Licenses Essential: Current license as a Registered Nurse in
Florida must be obtained by April 29th (May start date), June 23rd
(June start date), or July 14th (July start date).--
Certifications Essential: BLS for Healthcare Providers (Following
AHA guidelines)---- ---- ----
