$500 SIGN ON BONUSRequired Education and Experience: High school diploma required along with previous phlebotomy experience.Preferred Education and Experience: A minimum of one year experience as a phlebotomist, Laboratory Assistant, or Laboratory Specimen Processor to include phlebotomy performed on all ages and ability to adapt to multiple computer systems.Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Basic knowledge of medical terminology and data entry skills. Knowledge of specimen collection, specimen requirements, specimen integrity and specimen handling.Summary/Objective: A Regional Laboratory Assistant performs the dual role of the phlebotomy and specimen processing positions.Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Phlebotomy s kills are such that specimens are obtained correctly and specimen integrity is maintainedVerifies accurate and correct information on patients and proceeds to accurate labeling of specimensAccurate data entry skills in verifying correct patient information, requested tests, and specimen accessioning information into the LISProfessional attitude with patients including assistance with patients' questions and giving instructions on specimen collection and handlingProcesses specimens to achieve maximum accuracy, efficiency, and productivityTracks and maintains records and reports and provides complete and full documentation of any problem or resolution of a problemResponds to questions by physicians and other clinical staff in a timely mannerUses available reference materials and telephone support to assure the appropriate handling of tests of an unusual natureMaintains a well-stocked, clean, and orderly work environmentAdheres to all safety standards in the handling of biohazardous specimensSign on bonus will be paid in full after passing probationary period.
