part of a global public health organization and is expected to
support the Florida Department of Health in Polk County in its

RN position in the Lakeland Clinic. Clinical Duties + Assures that
the clinic area is prepared for clients. + Works closely with SCHNS
regarding staffing in the clinic and as a backup in all areas. +
Assists with supervision of staff and the clinic as assigned by the
Sr. CHN Supervisor. + Assist physicians and APRNs with exams and
procedures. + Interprets, educates, and reinforces the provider's
plan of care for the client. + Interview clients to obtain health
history and presenting complaints. + Take vital signs and perform
other screening tests. + Collect specimens for laboratory tests and
interpret laboratory results. + Follow up on abnormal and late lab
reports. + Administer medications as ordered by
physicians/providers or under medical protocol and guidelines. +
Make appropriate referrals and assist clients to make necessary
arrangements. + Enters all client information into the electronic
health record and maintains accurate records and reports. + Assess
immunization status of all clients and immunizes in accordance to
current standards. + Enters immunization information into Florida
Shots. + Provides screening for the HIV antibody virus, pre and
posttest counsels, provides education, and refers for medical
evaluation and other support services. + Works closely with the
supervisor to create a smooth flow of the clinic and increase
client satisfaction and work towards decreasing client wait time. +
Is cross trained in Immunization and the STD clinic and works
closely with other health professionals to provide quality care to
the client. + Is efficient in PFS and responsible for monitoring
and maintaining the log - Medication Inventory for the medications
used in the clinic Case Management Ct + Assessing needs and
planning with families to meet these needs documents care and
services in HMS. + Giving and/or demonstrating nursing care
specific to client's needs documents care and services in HMS. +
Educates and counsels clients and Their families according to
assessed needs. + Provides emotional support to clients and
families. + Conferring with physicians and other community agencies
to provide continuity of care. + Reviews records for accuracy and
completeness for QI audits. + Provides necessarily follow up and
referrals in a timely manner. + Follow-up of epidemiological
investigations, as requested. + Maintain appropriate records and
reports regarding abnormal Pap reports, colposcopies, Family
Planning clients (tubal ligation/occlusion, vasectomy) in a timely
manner and documents all findings in HMS. + Facilitate case
management of families through work with staff, Medicaid HMOs,
and/or insurance companies. + Coordinates with HMOs regarding
appropriate referral services. Other Responsibilities +
Participates in staff and in-service educational programs. +
Attends assigned committee meetings. + Assists with inventory of
supplies, medications, and vaccines. + Maintains
time/attendance/travel/EARs record. + Maintains and increases
competency through educational materials and classes. + Assist in
orientation of new personnel and volunteers. + Assists with
preceptorship of students assigned to the clinic. + Assist with
monitoring of electronic medical records for accuracy and
completeness. + As a state employee of the PCHD - employee will
participate in Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Activities. +
Performs other duties as required, including performance of
additional interpreter duties, consistent with skill level, and as
needed.Provides education for clients and community groups +
Assists in orientation of new personnel and preceptorship of
students assigned to the clinic + Coordinate the various skills of
staff members toward the objectives of improved health in the
community + Assists with supervision of the clinical staff and
clinic as assigned by the Clinical Nursing Supervisor + Provides as
a backup support to the supervisor as requested and takes charge of
situation/ clinic when needed. Required Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities: + Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization
of equipment, required for the position: + Knowledge of nursing
principles, practices and techniques. + Knowledge of human anatomy
and physiology. + Knowledge and ability to use electronic health

to initiate diagnostic laboratory tests and evaluate the results. +

Licensure/registration/certification requirements (If applicable,

Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with
Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance
with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.27. + Florida Driver's
License is a requirement of this position. + Other job-related

before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event
of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes
