Job Description:

Working closely with cross-functional Marketing and Sales teams, the Communications Manager be responsible for managing the ArrMaz brand and leading the development and implementation of the overall communications strategy for the company.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communications Strategy - Works closely with Marketing Managers and Business Unit Leaders to develop a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the company's overall business strategy and accelerates business acquisition at an attractive return on investment.
  • Brand Management - Develops and executes effective strategies to grow and reinforce the ArrMaz brand. Ensures consistent application of the brand across all mediums and marketing materials, including the proper application of logos, themes, visuals, slogans and messaging.
  • Promotional Tools and Materials - Manages the development and production of all promotional tools and materials to support the current marketing strategy while promoting the ArrMaz brand. Develops innovative ways to communicate marketing messages. Creates compelling promotional copy; oversees the design and production of marketing materials including brochures, technical data sheets, presentations, reports, print and digital advertising, and web and video-based content; manages the company's social media presence.
  • Advertising/Communications - Works closely with Industry Marketing Managers to implement advertising and communications strategies to reach specific target markets and audiences. Monitors and reports on key performance indicators and evaluates the return on investment (ROI) of all promotional activities towards meeting overall advertising/communications objectives.
  • Public Relations - Works with all business units to develop and implement public relations strategies and manages media requests. Maintains effective business relationships with media. Prepares and distributes press releases to media outlets. Monitors and documents competitor and industry press releases and announcements.
  • Trade Shows - Identifies, organizes and implements trade show participation to support all business units and help achieve business objectives. Ensures that our trade show presence is effectively aligned with our marketing strategy.
  • New Product Launches - Works closely with business unit leaders and Marketing Managers to launch new products in the market. Manages the development of product launch materials and coordinates public relations efforts for new product rollouts.
  • Marketing Communications Budget - Develops and manages the marketing communications budget and ensures that ArrMaz is maximizing its return on investment (ROI) for its marketing communications budget. Tracks the communications budget on an ongoing basis and ensures the proper allocation of marketing budget to highest value activities.
  • Sales Support - Develops and manages the production of internal sales materials to help Account Managers sell effectively and efficiently. Communicates marketing research data in understandable formats that provide practical information to the Sales team. Helps documents the sales process flow throughout the life of the order. Helps communicate the process throughout the organization. Helps Marketing Managers conduct presentations to Sales teams and other appropriate key employees in order to arm them with the knowledge and strategies they need to succeed.
  • External Agencies - Negotiates and manages our relationships with all external communications vendors including advertising agencies, developers, designers, photographers, video production companies, trade publications etc.
  • Management - Effectively trains and manages our communications personnel.Education and Experience Requirements:
    • A four-year degree in Marketing or Communications, MBA preferred.
    • 10+ years' experience working in strategic marketing communications or brand management roles in business-to-business (B2B) environments.
    • Experience working with global, multicultural organization(s) preferred.
    • Experience managing others for success.
    • Experience implementing marketing communications in the asphalt and fertilizer industries preferred.
    • Must be able to provide a portfolio of prior work.Personal Characteristics:
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products - intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point
      • Strong creative-thinking skills
      • Project management skills
      • The capacity to multi-task
      • Attention to detail
      • The ability to work in a team environment
      • Basic proficiency in Publishing/Graphic Design/Web Design applications, i.e. Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Flash, CSS and HTML/XHTML is preferred
      • Photography skills preferred
