Job Summary: As the Manager, Transportation Engineering Services you manage the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Disney Transport Bus Fleet, including the team and facilities that maintain them, with a focus of keeping all guests and personnel safe and meeting all regulatory requirements. You will provide leadership and represent the mechanics, technicians and leaders of our organization to develop a high level of teamwork, cooperation, collaboration and partnering for mutual success of all team members. You will also provide technical leadership, oversight and direction for the tactical performance of diagnostic troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, and the strategic planning for refurbishment, replacement and renewal of the Disney bus fleet, its facilities, systems and components. You will oversee the communication with partners and leadership on its operation and status. You will report to Director, Transportation Engineering Services. Responsibilities: Provide technical and inspirational leadership for the Bus Engineering Services team. Cultivate a safety culture where no one gets hurt. Work with clients, partners, peers and vendors. Keep leaders and the maintenance teams informed. Develop and monitor essential performance metrics and develop action plans to guide performance to exceed goals. Maintain the fleet of busses in safe, good show and operating condition; survey and develop renewal and reinvestment plans and bus specifications for new fleet orders. Improve efficiency and productivity to reduce costs; use technology to foster innovation. Manage vendor(s) supporting Bus Engineering Services per contracted requirements. Take the lead on contract changes and evaluations during bid negotiations. Manage department budget and flex organization to adjust to business and market conditions. Identify and differentiate capital improvements, capital purchases and expense items with justifications. Audit maintenance performance to verify compliance with federal, state, local requirements and company/industry standards. Basic Qualifications: Experience maintaining a large bus/transit fleet, including troubleshooting, repair and replacement of multiplexed and distributed i/o, engines, transmissions/drive train, disc and drum brakes, tires, pneumatic systems, steering systems, air conditioning systems, engine cooling systems. Working knowledge of electrical, controls, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and systems as applied to transit busses. 10 years maintenance experience in transit bus industry. 5 years of management experience for maintenance of transit busses. Working knowledge of applicable DOT regulations. Well defined approach to solving problems. Experience handling more than one work flow simultaneously at a decision-making level. Experience with financial management and budgeting skills. Comfort with handling confidential information. Well defined organizational techniques to manage time and complete commitments. Well-developed coaching, mentoring and facilitation skills. Experience delivering and understanding written and verbal information. Experience successful team building and customer service. Willingness to work evenings, holidays, weekends, and different shifts. Working knowledge of maintenance reporting and scheduling systems, such as Maximo. Working proficiency in computer programs and systems. Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of SAP. Required Education Bachelor 's degree from a 4-year college or university in Engineering, Business Administration, or other directly related field. Preferred Education Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or other directly related field.
