Job Description:
Reliance Medical Centers is embarking on a mission to improve
senior's health and wellness. We are a growing entrepreneurial
company in the value-based healthcare sector industry redefining
"what healthcare should be". We are looking for an experienced Vice
President of Medicine - Corporate Medical Director who will work
collaboratively with internal partners for further developing our
road map for our Reliance Clinical Care model. This will include
determining the appropriate level of care, physician experience and
satisfaction, and enhancing the overall patient journey to improve
outcomes, wellness and satisfaction. This key executive leadership
role will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and
will develop and execute a care strategy that aligns and supports
Reliance's long-term strategic growth and planning efforts. The
Vice President of Medicine is expected to develop and leverage key
partnerships with the VP of Operations and VP of Care Management to
ensure and environment of collaboration, transparency and inclusion
is continuously maintained and cultivated. The ideal candidate will
be highly involved in the development and ongoing rapid refinement
of the Reliance Clinical Care model, which encompasses combinations
of on-site care, telehealth/virtual care, home-based care, and wrap
around care (i.e., behavioral, pharmacological, etc.). The position
also serves as coach/mentor/trainer in the development and growth
of our primary care providers. As a licensed and practicing
physician leader, the Vice President of Medicine, will also provide
direct patient services and care in addition to their
administrative duties. DUTIES * Supports our CMO with the
following: hires and manages physicians and future medical
directors with responsibility for talent selection and development
including but not limited to leading candidate interview panels,
facilitate and enhance best practices, shadowing physicians,
implement one on one meetings, provide educational and learning
opportunities, leadership development plan execution, and
performance management. * Leads our physician & APRN providers in
weekly morbidity and mortality meetings and participates in market
leadership, executive, and recruiting meetings. * Oversees and
manages clinical teams to adhere to standard operating procedures
on coding, HEDIS and other evidence-based medicine. * Cultivates a
uniform clinical culture and environment that aligns with
Reliance's mission, vision and values for our providers and staff.
* Takes ownership of patient outcomes. * Leads and participates in
provider meetings to present and share various patient cases and
circumstances to the entire group to enhance greater understanding,
education, accountability and collaboration towards possible
treatments, outcomes, diagnoses, etc. as well as foster ongoing
innovation. * Advocates wellness for patients along the health
continuum, from intensive, preventive care to treating multiple,
complex, chronic illnesses. * Invests in our patients by
implementing high-touch and data driven strategies that help
prevent complications from simple to chronic complex medical
problems. * Oversees the medical services of medical centers and
our providers according to our protocol and standards and ensures
the highest quality standards are maintained. * Hires, manages and
mentors primary care physicians as a clinical leader. * Establishes
positive relationships with local medical community and attends
local medical society functions. * Establishing linkage with
pharmacy, dental care, and community referral entities, social
support resources to improve and expand the scope of services
available through community referrals. * Stays abreast Track
competitors' activities. QUALIFICATIONS: * Board certified or Board
eligible, in a major primary care specialty field of practice *
Current, valid license to practice medicine including DEA license
and CPR, required. * Minimum five (5) years' experience in
progressively responsible administrative or management-related
positions within a primary health care environment, preferably in
in a community health center setting with managed care, Medicare or
Medicaid. * Recent experience developing, launching, managing, and
growing telehealth projects and programs. * Previous experience
supervising providers and other clinical staff is essential, with
demonstrated record of success. * Experience providing services and
exercising leadership in a culturally and linguistically diverse
setting with medically needy and underserved communities. * Skill
in providing excellent customer service and support; organizing and
prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines; and excellent written
and verbal communication. * Ability to interact effectively and
professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic,
education, racial, ethnic and professional backgrounds. * Ability
to work effectively with executive staff, managers, co-workers,
members of the public and professional groups. * Ability to
communicate effectively, clearly, concisely with others (internal
and external customers, both verbally and in writing), consistently
demonstrate positive/proactive customer service attitude. *
Consistently maintains the highest level of exemplary demeanor and
ethical behaviors of a physician and health care provider. *
Ability to work as an effective team member; function
independently, exercising sound judgment and initiative. *
Organization and flexibility to shift priorities. * Maintain
confidentiality. * Establish and maintain effective interpersonal
work relationships. * Ability to effectively assist providers and
work toward goals and objectives.
