Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at GWST - Sarasota. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to assess and repair a variety of heavy equipment, such as dozers, excavators, articulated dump trucks, and roll-off trucks, in a manner that prioritizes safety and efficiency.



Location: South Florida - Sarasota/Bradenton area



Employment Type: Full-Time



Work Schedule: Monday to Friday with occasional weekends

Responsibilities:
--- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles
--- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
--- Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance on diesel equipment
--- Repair or replace faulty parts and components
--- Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
--- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations

Qualifications:
--- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
--- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and systems
--- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
--- Familiarity with HVAC systems in diesel vehicles
--- Ability to solder and perform tire service is a plus
--- Knowledge of tractor-trailer systems is beneficial
--- Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively
--- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
