The goal is to make sure the Service Department delivers good quality repairs to customer's vehicles. The Quality Control Technician is responsible to make sure all customer complaints have been addressed within the approved estimate, check for presentation and cleanliness of the vehicle.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview work order and notes from MVASIST to confirm which repairs were performed on the vehicle.Inspect repairs performed to make sure OEM guidelines have been followed.Make sure there are no active fault codes related to the repairs performed, if other active codes are present Technician needs to go through MVASIST case to make sure the shop Foreman was informed and customer is aware of the situation.Complete quality control checklist before and after road testing truck to ensure proper guidelines have been followed.Technician must go through Asist case and make sure there is CBR case open, Eaton, Wabco, Cummins, Tech support cases, all cores returned. If repairs are covered under warranty, Technician needs to make sure parts are tagged, need to make sure location codes are in MVASIST if Electrical/Air repairs were done.If issues are found during quality control the Technician will inform the Shop Foreman. Shop Foreman must address the issues with the technician as soon as possible to make sure customer is updated in a timely mannerOther duties as assigned.CompetenciesWorks well independently and with othersStrong Organizational skillsCustomer/Client FocusTime ManagementAttention to detailEducation and/or ExperienceMinimum of 5 years' experience in the heavy-duty trucking industry.Language SkillsAbility to read a limited number of two-and-three syllable words and to recognize similarities and difference between words and between series of numbers. Ability to write and speak simple sentences.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
