Notifies service advisor/dispatcher immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.Operates all tools/equipment in a safe manner and reports any safety issues immediately to management.Skills and QualificationsHigh School DiplomaBasic computer skillsUp to Two years related experience and/or training as a Technician.Valid CDL License a plus, recommended within 1 year of hiring.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with only limited resources. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Use of creeper or rolling device to enable tech to work underneath vehicle.The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.The employee is required to stand and sit for extended periods of time (hours) while making repairs.Entry or exit from the cab of the vehicle.Climb to a safe position to access the engine compartment area, firewall or roof of a vehicle to perform repairs.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Ability to push/pull large tool chest from vehicle to vehicle.Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
