Overview: JBT Diversified Food & Health is a prime solutions and equipment provider within the fruit and vegetable industry segment. From preparation to preservation, conveying and packaging, our comprehensive range of technologies captures the freshness, taste, texture, appearance and nutritional value of fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products, and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Controlls Engineer II to join our team! This position is located at our Lakeland, Fl site and will be primarily responsible for designing and programming control systems for large industrial machinery; will primarily use AutoCAD and Allen Bradley systems Responsibilities: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Apply electrical engineering knowledge to machinery principles and materials, manufacturing methods and processes to ensure that designs are functional, practical, economical, safe, meet required codes and satisfy customer operating requirements.
Interface with senior engineers, project managers and occasionally customers to understand and clarify specifications and project design objectives.
Operate computer-assisted design software to perform engineering tasks.
Work with panel shop technicians to ensure that assembly, wiring, installation and operation of control panels and electrical systems conform to quality standards, applicable codes and customer requirements.
Construct accurate and complete bills of material based on designs that conform to cost and performance objectives.
Inspect, install, troubleshoot and debug machine systems, both on-site and remotely
Train customer and service personnel to troubleshoot and maintain the machine system and provide them with documentation, programs and procedures to support the training
Proactively revise designs to meet specifications and deadlines.
Proactively evaluate new technologies, suppliers and design approaches
As needed, provide on-site and off-site technical support
Qualifications: WE WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK TO CANDIDATES WHO HAVE: Minimum BS Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred
Minimum 5-10 years of experience
Experience in electrical control system design and engineering for machinery, including programming, start-up and debugging processes
Experience with PLC Logic using Rockwell (Experience with Siemens is a plus)
Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
Experience with Factory Talk and WonderWare (Experience with Siemens a plus)
Travel requirement is 50% of the time
Knowledge of practical/fundamental wiring practices for industrial control systems including up to 600VAC motor power circuits and controls (VFDs, ect.), discrete and analog signaling devices, PLC modules, Ethernet communications and safe-guarding controls
Experience with control panel layout and design
Experience with IIOT
Knowledge of NEC for industrial low voltage electrical systems (knowledge of UL panel design a plus)
Basic knowledge of pneumatic (compressed air) systems
Food processing industry controls experience preferred
Excellent verbal and written communications skills which include presentation skills
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word/Excel, AutoCAD Electrical, IT)
Ability to successfully follow direction provided
Good interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role. RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has extensive contact with other members of the JBT team and also interfaces with suppliers and customers. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal working condition is an office environment, with an adjacent development lab. Working on-site in customers' plants is required to learn the business, complete new installations and troubleshoot problems. This position will require occasional overtime and travel.
