About the Position:
Reporting to the campus Academic Dean on the Lakeland Campus, the
primary role of this full time instructional position is to provide
college level instruction and instruction-related activities
designed to encourage, support and enable students' success.

Essential Functions/Duties:
The compensation (pay level) for this position is based upon the
degree level attained and years of experience in the specific
discipline (Step 10 is the maximum step for an incoming faculty
member). Please review the Polk State College Salary Schedule here
to ensure our pay ranges are within your compensation
expectations.
NOTE: This position is for a FALL (August) 2023 start.
Required Skills
Required Education:
A minimum of a Master's degree in Biology, Botany, Zoology, or
related biological science subfield; or a Master's degree with 18
graduate credit hours in Biology, Botany, Zoology, or related
biological science subfield.
Preferred Education:
A Doctorate in Biology, Botany, Zoology, or related biological
science subfield.
Required Experience
Two years college teaching experience is preferred.
Must be able to teach a broad selection of topics across the
discipline including, but not limited to: Anatomy and Physiology,
Botany, General Biology, etc.
Preferred Experience:
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience
in community or state college teaching and assessment.
Familiarity with distance education delivery methods is
desirable.
