Job Details Responsibilities: As a Permanent Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following: 1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC systems and related projects. 2. Review and analyze project plans, requirements, and specifications. 3. Prepare bids and proposals, ensuring they meet customer needs and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. 4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather information and resolve issues. 5. Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness. 6. Participate in preconstruction meetings to understand project requirements and specifications. 7. Utilize estimating software such as Trimble to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates. 8. Monitor and track project costs, providing regular updates to project managers and clients. 9. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in the HVAC industry, applying this knowledge to your work. Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications: 1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimating, with a focus on HVAC systems. 2. Proficiency in MEP, HVAC, HVACR, HVAC&R, Trimble, pipefitting, ductwork, and air conditioning. 3. Experience with HVAC installation and knowledge of commercial HVAC systems. 4. Proven experience preparing bids and participating in preconstruction meetings. 5. Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, with a focus on mechanical systems. 6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately estimate costs and manage budgets. 7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. 8. Proficiency in using computer software for estimating, scheduling, and project management. 9. A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
