information. *** Accountant I - Accounts Payable AGENCY DESCRIPTION
: The Florida Department of Citrus is a marketing and research
agency utilizing progressive insights to maximize demand for
Florida citrus through a fully integrated marketing and public
relations program. Based in Central Florida (Bartow), FDOC is
responsible for domestic and international marketing, research and
regulation of the $6.8 billion Florida citrus industry. DESCRIPTION
: This position serves as the FDOC's primary Accounts Payable
Accountant. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
audit/process of all invoices; maintain/reconcile complex budget
control ledgers; prepare FAS claims; prepare various monthly and
annual reports; provide support for other accounting/administrative
functions; etc. To perform this job successfully, an individual
must have a minimum of two years of accounting experience and/or
college courses in the accounting field, advanced knowledge/use of
Microsoft Excel, be detail oriented and have the ability to
prioritize assignments to meet deadlines. Generous state benefits:

- $42,000 EXAMPLES OF WORK (not all inclusive) : + Audit of
invoices ensuring payments are pursuant to contracts, cost
management plans, availability of funds, and performance of
services are incompliance with State of Florida and USDA/FAS rules
and regulations; set up and maintain files, vouchers & reports;
notifying agencies of discrepancies and resolving them. +
Audit/approve p-card invoices for payment and prepare voucher. +
Create and submit invoices for payment via ARIBA system; perform
Exception Handling on all invoices when submitted. + Assist other
departments in approving invoices and resolving system errors. +
Responsible for establishing, maintaining and balancing numerous
complex budget control and expenditure ledger/records. + Prepare
foreign currency invoices for payment approval; notify agencies of
payment details. + Prepare and reconcile various year end reports.
+ Reconcile budget control records to business unit department and
their financial statement and resolve discrepancies. + Audit and
process travel vouchers and compile monthly and annual travel
reports. + Assemble vouchers daily for management signature. +
Process paper warrants and EFT payments when received. + Scan and
import accounting documents into electronic records management
system (Laserfiche). + Monitor security of the lobby during
business hours. + Perform other related accounting duties as
requested by supervisor. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : + Two years
accounts payable or other related accounting experience OR two
years of college with a major course of study in accounting OR any
combination of the two equivalent to two years of experience. +
Extensive computer skills, including advanced functions in
Microsoft Excel. + Positive/friendly attitude for greeting visitors
and answering phones. + Ability to prepare and maintain a variety
of accounting records. + Ability to analyze, evaluate and interpret
accounting data. + Ability to communicate effectively. + Ability to
understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and
procedures. + Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work
assignments. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with others. + Ability to utilize problem-solving
