Our client is a well-known, community based non-profit organization is looking for an-- -Accounts Payable Clerk-- -to join their team based out of Lithia, FL. Salary/Hourly Rate: $16 - $19/hr Position Overview: The Accounts Payable Clerk will join a cohesive Accounting Department, reporting directly to the Sr. Accountant, and working between various systems. This is a fast paced and high-volume Accounts Payable Clerk position that provides extensive exposure to the functions of accounts payable, general ledger accounting and much more Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Clerk: Receive, process, verify, and reconcile invoices including verifying approval on all invoices and check requisitions Able to process and enter 200 to 300 invoices per week Code invoices in alignment with annual operating budget Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling, and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos Submits request to issue stop-payments or purchase order amendments to Senior Director of Accounting Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions Maintains historical records by scanning and electronically filing documents Ensures sales taxes is not included or paid on invoices Verifies that all vendors have a current W-9 on file Assists the Senior Director of Accounting in the preparation of the annual 1099 Forms as needed Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Clerk: 0 to 2 years of accounting experience (internships included); accounts payable processing experience is highly preferred Highly proficient in MS Excel (v/h-lookups, pivot tables, formulas, sum if) Ability to meet deadline requirements and communicate effectively with non-accounting staff Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree is required Accounting, Finance or Economics is highly preferred Benefits: Medical, Dental and Vision 401k match As a woman owned firm, we value diversity.
